THE HOUSE SYSTEM
To inspire a healthy sense of competition, students of SSVHPS have been allocated to one of the four houses which symbolizes the school's values. Students develop a sense of belonging and a feeling of unity in being a part of a specific house.
The Four Houses are Named
THE HOYSALAS - Red House
THE SATAVAHANAS-Green House
THE MAURYAS - Blue House
THE RASHTRAKUTAS - Yellow House, after the South Indian Dynasties.
The Hoysalas (Red House)
Motto: The Password is Courage.
Students of the Red House, referred to as 'The Hoysalas' are known to stand strong and united at all times. The Hoysalas are enthusiastic and achieve their goals, thereby upholding their values always.
The colour of the house is Red-the colour of energy and primal life forces for life, health and courage.
The Satavahanas (Green House)
Motto: Bloom in all Seasons of Life.
Green house is appropriately named 'The Satavahana', because of their link to the natural elements of the environment and are natural winners. The Satavahanas are always ready, rearing to go on and achieve always while keeping in mind their goals.
The colour of the house is Green - which symbolizes the spirit of harmony and prosperity. The students of this house follow the same spirit with full energy and enthusiasm.
The Mauryas (Blue House)
Motto: Touch the Sky with Glory.
The students of the Blue House, referred to as 'The Mauryas' are known for their highly intellectual skills, stability and unity, symbolising the blue colour. Their greatest asset is t heir confidence and determination.
The colour of the house is Blue which is the sign of trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, faith and intelligence.
The Rashtrakutas (Yellow House)
Motto: Be the Light of the World.
The students of Yellow House better referred to 'The Rashtrakutas' as Yellow being the colour of the Sun, are a shining example to the students of the school. Every Rashtrakuta is indeed proud to be part of a house that shines with the qualities of perseverance, faith and light.
The colour of the house is Yellow-which depicts wisdom and teaches students to be wise, humble and kind to every being on the earth and treat everyone equally.
Each house is led by the House Mistress for a year. The Captain and Vice-captain guide their teams on all fronts and play a vital role in leading their team to victory in all events. These houses essentially are the backbone of the discipline of the school. Besides, the Houses contribute in maintaining hygiene, conducting assemblies, organizing celebrations on festivals and special days and are instrumental in imparting valuable lessons of teamwork, co-operation and sports man spirit. Various inter house activities will provide the members of the houses an opportunity for healthy competition amongst them to show case their talent in multiple cultural, academics and sports activities
